Lapakahi State Historical Park

Along the North Kohala coast Lapakahi State Historical Park is the archaeological site of the remains of a traditional Hawaiian fishing community. Take the 1-mile loop trail and glimpse the lifestyle of the ancient Hawaiians. Displays include a canoe halau and house site, Hawaiian fishing technology, salt gathering, games, and native plants. This site is considered sacred by Hawaiians and should be appreciated with respect.
