Mark Twain's Monkey Pod Tree

This beautiful umbrella tree was first planted in 1866 (it has since been replanted) and it served as an inspiration for Mark Twain when he was in this region during his travels. A Hawaiian warrior marker sign marks the spot that Mark Twain once touched.
