Located in a rainforest, this zoo is free and is the only tropical rainforest zoo in America. Be sure to see Namaste, the white Bengal tiger and the wonderful butterfly exhibit. Open 9-4. When heading from Hilo on Hwy 11, take a right turn at the Panaewa Zoo sign about 4 miles outside of Hilo.
