Picturesque Coconut Island, a small palm covered islet located
just offshore of the resort in ancient times was a sacred spot for
healing. In contemporary times, the Island is an attraction
for locals and tourists alike, especially for children who enjoy
playing in the tide pools and jumping off a platform into the ocean.
Coconut Island is the site of the annual Kamehameha day (June 11)
crowning of the Hawaiian Royal court in a day of festivities and
pageantry. Make
sure to book your reservations at the Resort early and ensure the
best accommodations to experience this fun and exciting event. Coconut
Island can be accessed by a five-minute walk along the shoreline
fronting Resort to where a footbridge connects the shoreline to the
Island.
